Folded-Waist Form, Raised Foot Ring & Ring-Shaped Lid Knob

The Waisted Gaiwan is defined by its distinctive three-part structure: a gently flared rim, an inward-curved waist, and a rounded lower bowl resting on a raised foot ring.
Unlike a traditional low-profile gaiwan, the folded-waist structure creates a natural resting point for the fingers, allowing a more secure grip while holding the vessel andcreating a more secure and balanced grip during pouring.
The raised foot ring elevates the body above the table surface, giving the gaiwan a more refined silhouette while creating a lighter visual presence despite its substantial stoneware construction.
